Happy ThanksGiving

I would like to start of by sayig happy thanksgiving to everyone. There is a lot i have to be thankful for this year starting with being home. I spent the last year away in Iraq, and I am thankful for that this year I will be able to be with my family. I have a wife that I love and do not know what I do with out. She has been there for me for everything, and I only hope one day that I can could give her even half the support she as given me. I am also thankful for the four wonderful children that me and my wife Melanie have; Cameron, Natalie, Sydney, and Benjamin. We are truly bless with our wonderful children.
This being the offical start to the holiay season I thought I would start off by blogging my holiday wish. I have spent many holidays by going through the motions, but this year I want to make it special for me and my family. I would like to enjoy every single day of te season. I also want to share the true meaning of the holidays with my children. Iwould like to teach them its not about the gifts but the enjoyment of life, shareing with others, family, giving gifts of more then monitary value. I know it might sound sappy I do relize that, but sometimes that is what it takes to realy enjoy the season. There is no greater feeling then to know that you have touched the lives of others.

Writeing

I can honestly say that becoming a writer has not been a dream of mine, but something has been drawing me to it. For the last year or so I have been playing with the idea of writing a book. Sounds funny doesn’t it. But I have seriously contemplating writing one. I have kept a journal since I was in high school. I use to write to stay focus during class. I used it to pass the time as well. I never thought in my wildest dream that I would actually want to do it professionally. I am not sure where to even begin. I always figured studying history I would be doing a lot of writing, but I never imagined I would want to do any more with it then that. I enjoy the idea that my words might out shine myself. As the old saying goes the”pen is mightier than the sword.” I am not sure if that is the true reason or not, but it does sound good. I am Just kidding. I cannot really describe what draws me to it, but there is something about it that I do enjoy It is peaceful almost like meditating.

Goals

Well here I am back in the rear… I am back were I belong with my family. I am right now on 30days of leave, and trying to re-adjust being back. I have set out goals for my self, and I think it is high time I have written them down. I think it might help me keep them in mind and to strive to make them happen.
My Goals:
• Be a better husband
• Be a better father
• Get back in touch with my religion
• Get fit, and lose weight
• Get organized
• Be cleaner
• Help out more with the kids
• Help out more with the chores
• Take care of the house & cars better
• Go back to school
• Work on my writing
• LEARN BALANCE!!!
The list above is just a small one of what I would like to accomplish, but it is a start, and we all have to start somewhere right? I guess it all comes down to taking that first step. I have to admit when I am wrong, and not to be afraid to ask for help. Well that is all for now its still early today and I do not want to waste the day. Until later…
